* Please note this blog will be in use until NWHS School Fusion Page is up and running. Once that is done we will make the switch over.

- Mandatory Parent/Student Meeting. On Monday, Sept. 13th we will have our annual parent/student meeting in the choir room at 6:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

- Homecoming Game: It is tradition here for Vocal Dimension and VD Alumni to perform the National Anthem at the Homecoming game. Mark it on your calendar.

- Vocal Dimension Retreat is Sept. 24-26. Payment and forms are due by Friday, Sept. 17th (this includes your solo piece)

- Serenade! Retreat is Oct. 9 and 10. Mark your calendars.

- Fall Concert: This year our fall concert falls on Weds. October 27th at JCC (7:30pm). This is a mandatory event!

- Uniforms: Please note your blue forms and payment is due by Friday, Sept. 17th.

- Congratulations on a successful concert. You can order a DVD of the collage concert through Heckaman Videos. See Mr. Snell for an order form.

- This Friday we have a Senior Guy's Lock-In. The event starts at 9pm and goes until 10am the next day.

- Friday, May 28th is our annual choir banquet. It will be held in the HS Cafeteria and is free! It will take place from 6:30-9pm.

-Monday, May 31st: Vocal Dimension will be performing at the Cascades park at 8pm. (Vocal Dimension will be meeting at the high school at 3pm to set up.

- June 3rd: at 7pm in the NWHS Gym Serenade! and Vocal Dimension will be performing at the Baccalaurete service.

-June 4th: at 7pm is Graduation!

-June 11: LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

- May 11-13: MS State Choir Festival. Many of you signed up to work this festival. Make sure you have talked with your teachers.


- Collage Concert: May 19th at 8pm is our annual Collage Concert. Students will be missing school all day. There call time that evening will be 7:30pm.



- Choir Awards Banquet: This year are theme is Phantom of the Opera. The Awards Banquet will begin at 6:30pm.



- Cascades: Vocal Dimension will be performing at Cascades on Monday, May 31 (Memorial Day) at 8pm.



- Baccalaurette: June 3rd at 7pm is Baccalaurette.


- Cedar Point: Packets are due as soon as possible. We are leaving for Cedar Point on June 14th.

Announcements!

- Auditions have begun, those interested in auditioning for Serenade! should audition during their class. If you have any friends interested in auditioning that are not in choir they should see Mr. Snell to set up and audition time.

- Vocal Dimension Auditions are this Thursday, April 29 from 6-8pm. If you have not turn in your packet yet it is late!

Rummage Sale:

- This Summer July 6-10 will be our 3rd Annual Choir Rummage Sale. We are already collecting items for the sale. Please send them!!

MS Choir Festival: Many students signed up to work the middle school choir festival at JCC May 11-13. Make sure you talk to your teachers ahead of time.


-Collage Concert: The Collage Concert is Wednesday, May 19th and it starts at 8pm!! (Note this is a time change). Students call time will be 7:30pm.

-Choir Awards Banquet: Friday, May 28th at 6:30pm will be our Choir Awards Banquet. This years theme is Phantom of the Opera.

-Serenade Auditions will be during the day. If you have any friends that would like to audition and are not in choir they need to see Mr. Snell to set up an audition time.

- Tuesday, April 27 there is a Vocal Dimension Audition Meeting. You must have a completed packet for the meeting!

- Thursday, April 29 are Vocal Dimension Auditions from 6-8pm.

Middle School Choir Festival

-Many of you signed up to work the MS Choir Festival at JCC from May 11-13. Make sure you have talked to your teachers! You need to arrive at JCC by 7:45 am.

Collage Concert!

-Wednesday, May 19th is our Annual Collage Concert. The concert begins at 7:30pm, students call time is 7pm.

- Congratulations to Vocal Dimension and Serenade! Both choirs received a Superior Rating at State Choral Festival!


- Serenade! and Vocal Dimension Auditions are taking place next Tue-Thur. Serenade! auditions will be done during the day and Vocal Dimension auditions will begin Tuesday, April 27 with an informational meeting from 6:30-7:15pm. VD Auditions will then take place on Thursday, April 29 from 6-8pm.

- Middle School Choir Festival: May 11-13. Don't forget if you signed up to work you are responsible for all make up work.

State Choral Festival is This Week

-State Choral Festival is this Thursday, April 22nd. Vocal Dimension and Serenade! will be leaving at 1:10pm for Holt high School and will return around 5:30pm. Vocal Dimension warms-up at 2:00pm and Serenade! Warms-up at 3:15pm. This event is open to the public for free!

This Wednesday, April 21 after school is a choir officers meeting.

Auditions:

-Serenade! auditions are taking place April 27-29 in class. If you have any friends that are interested in auditioning for Serenade! that are not in choir they can sign up for an audition time during their lunch.

-Vocal Dimension: There is an informational meeting Tuesday, April 27 from 6:30-7:15pm. You audition packet is due at this time.

Auditions for Vocal Dimension are taking place Thursday, April 29 from 6-8pm.

Middle School State Choral Festival Volunteers:

-Those interested in signing up to volunteer need to see Mr. Snell. We need 30 volunteers spread out over three days. May 11-13.

May,19th at JCC Potter Center. The concert starts at 7:30pm, students call time will be 7pm ready to go.

State Choral Festival is next week Thursday, April 22. Serenade and Vocal Dimension will be leaving at 1:10pm. Vocal Dimension will warm up at 2pm and Serenade will warm-up at 3:15pm. The bus will return to the high school at 5:30pm.

We will set up the sound system at cascades at 3pm. The concert will start at 8pm.

Disney!

- Ladies that borrowed a Serenade Dress need to return them by Friday this week.

- Folders: All Concert Choir members need to return their choir folders.

- Pictures: Mr. Simons is collecting all pictures from Disney to compile onto one CD. He is asking everyone to turn in their pictures by this Friday.


Cookbook Fundraiser:

Those of you that participated in the cookbook fundraiser. Your money is due today!

Auditions:

- Serenade Auditions will take place during class from April 27-29.

- Vocal Dimension auditions will be held on Thursday, April 29 from 6-8pm. Students with conflicts only need to arrive for a quick 5min audition. Please note that the conflict must be cleared with Mr. Snell.

- Vocal Dimension Packets are available to be picked up in the Choir Room.

-Vocal Dimension Informational meeting: We will hold an informational meeting for all those interested in auditioning on Tuesday, April 27 from 6:30pm-7:15pm. During this meeting we will discuss what is expected of Vocal Dimension members and go over the audition song.

State Choral Festival: I received our times yesterday afternoon. Vocal Dimension will be warming up at 2:15pm and Serenade! will warm up at 3:15pm. This is our appointed time. Note those in athletics can sing then leave straight to their games from festival.

Collage Concert:

Our Collage Concert is Wednesday, May 19th. Students will be missing the whole day of school and the concert starts at 7:30pm at JCC. Mark your calendars now!

Cascades: It has been a long standing tradition for Vocal Dimension to open cascades with a concert on Memorial day. This year Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 31.

Baccalaurette: is June 3rd the Day before Graduation and is scheduled to begin at 7pm however Vocal Dimension has been asked to sing at Northwest's Baccalaurette service.

Cedar Point:

Many people are starting to ask about Cedar Point. We will be passing out packets the last week of April. Our Cedar Point trip is scheduled for Monday, June 14th.

- Disney Folders need to be returned, it is okay to keep the cover of your folder and any music that was photo-copied.

- Disney Photos: Please turn in your Disney photos to Mr. Snell as soon as possible. Put them on a CD or USB Drive. Mr. Simons is going to combine them onto one big CD for everyone!

- State Solo and Ensemble: Starts today at Walled Lake Central High School. Please plan on an hour and half travel time. Break a Leg Everyone!!

- Disney Itinerary: I have posted an updated Disney Itinerary on the choir blog. It has exact days and times and where we will be located.

- Disney Rehearsal: We have one more Disney Rehearsal: Tuesday March 30 from 6:30-8:30pm. Following the rehearsal there will be a student and parent meeting. We will go over all the rules in regards to the trip!

- Disney Forms are due by Wed. March 31. We cannot accept them a day later.

-State Choral Festival is Thursday, April 22nd. I have requested for times during the school day but it is possible we may get an evening time. Mark your calendars now!

Disney Trip: Our Disney trip is only two weeks away! This week rehearsals start. Tonight, Monday, March 22 we have our first chaperone meeting in the Band Room starting at 6:30pm.

Tuesday, March 23: We have our first choir rehearsal in the Choir Room from 6:30-8pm

Thursday, March 25: Is our next rehearsal from 6:30-8pm.

- FIDDLER ON THE ROOF MEETING TONIGHT RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, JANUARY 11 @ 6PM IN THE HS CHOIR ROOM.

- MVAD Tomorrow! We load the bus at 7:50 am (@KMS) and we will return around 6:30pm. Don't forget to bring your money for Mongolian BBQ ($20).

-State Honors Choir Rehearsal: We load the bus at 7:50am tomorrow morning (@KMS). Remember to pack a lunch. If you are riding the bus home, you will get back around 6:30pm. If your parents are bringing you home, remember to bring us a note.

-Auditions for this years Musical: Fiddler on the Roof are scheduled for next Tuesday, January 12 and Wednesday, January 13 from 7-9pm. All are invited to audition!

-MVAD is this Saturday, January 9th. We load the bus, at KMS, at 7:50 am. Students will return around 6:30 pm.

-Fiddler Informational Meeting: is this Friday, January 8th in the High School Choir Room at 6:00 pm. You will be receiving all the important musical information at this meeting.

-Announcements

- MVAD is this weekend. The bus arrives at 7:50 am at KMS. Do not be late! You will need about $15 for Mongolian BBQ. Expect to arrive back at NWHS around 6:30 pm.

-State Honors Choir (9th Grade): 7:50 am load the bus at KMS. You will need to pack a lunch for this rehearsal. Also, if you do no wish to see the MVAD choir concert Saturday afternoon, you will need your parents to pick you up at the rehearsal in Saline.

-Musical: Packets will be ready at the end of the day today! There is an informational meeting this Friday Evening! The show is open to any student in the Northwest Public School System. At the meeting we will be going over all information for the show and learning the music for the audition.

- Solo and Ensemble Forms: I need them no latter than Wed. January 6th! This year district solo and ensemble is taking place at Parma Western High School on January 29 and 30.

-Festival Concert: We are trying a new concert this year. Mark your calendar for Thursday, February 18th.

- Male Vocal Arts Day is this Saturday! We will be loading the bus at 7:50 am at Kidder Middle School.

- 9th Grade State Honors Choir: Don't forget you have rehearsal this Saturday. You will be loading the bus at 7:50 at KMS as well.

- Festival Concert: We are getting close to festival time and this year we are adding a new concert for Thursday, February 18th. Make sure you take it off work and clear your schedules. This is a required event.
